You can demux it in DGIndexNV with just the M2TS. Just open the M2TS file instead of the MPLS. That's what I plan to do.

While waiting for your upload to complete I went and purchased John Wick 3 at BestBuy here in Shitcago. It has 4 subtitle streams. All are demuxed properly with valid timestamps (checked with SubtitleEdit). Hopefully, your upload will be more edifying.

I'm not able to reproduce any issue with your M2TS. Everything works fine demuxing with DGIndexNV (same code as DGDemux).

Do you have an nVidia card that would allow you to demux with DGIndexNV?

thanks for your PM;
I have re-downloaded and will retry;
I have stopped the upload to ftp (after 6h; still >>30min to go );
I'm on Intel GPU with the working PC; I'm demuxing purely with software, no hardware acceleration;

I will let you know the outcome tomorrow; it's past midnight

Out of curiosity, is this the only disk that shows problems for you?

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't recall getting anything from you on this. I can develop the feature only if I have an appropriate disk Thank you.

Thank you, ChaosKing. I'm working on wav-wrapping PCM and when that is done I'll look at this demux-by-episode stuff.

...yes, that came to my mind too...
so, I checked 4 more disks (two UHD, two 3D which I demuxed as 2D)... took some time...

3 of them did work out (had in BDSup2Sub valid time stamps); the forth was "Girl on the Train (UHD)"; it contains in my edition just one Sub (deu; without forced subs in it);
since I only keep the forced subs for "deu", it would be dropped completely in the created mkv and would have no chance to cause trouble...

so, no idea what is special with those two disks... it must be something which eac3to ignores or manages...

in other words the new "24" had the same problem like the previous one.

OK, here's the debug stuff.

1. Download

http://rationalqm.us/misc/Dbgview.exe

2. Download

http://rationalqm.us/misc/DGDemux_arrgh.exe

rename it to DGDemux.exe for testing.

3. Open Dgbview. Under Edit/Filter put "DGDemux" in the Include field and hit OK.

4. Make sure you have the DGDemux.exe from step 1 together with DGDemuxGUI.exe. Start DGDemuxGUI and do the demux with only one PGS selected. You should see lines appearing in the Dbgview window. After catching some, abort the demux.

5. Highlight the first 50 or so lines and then Edit/Copy. Paste these lines into a post here.

FYI, the lines are

DGDemux: frame_number pts pgs_command a b c d

a, b, c, d are the byte values written to the sup file for the starting timestamp.

Thank you.

Please re-download DGDemux_arrgh.exe and retest the same way. Thank you.

I'm guessing the frame rate is not being determined correctly. It can happen if vps_timing_info_present_flag = 0. It's supposed to pop up a message in that case.

The second field in the output is now the frame rate. The rest is the same. Note that I calculate the pts from the frames and frame rate fields.

EDIT: The -fps option is still there. You can try it.

Actually, don't bother with -fps. -fps will fail if there are subs in the first M2TS. I'll fix all this. Now that I know what the issue is I can simulate it in the debugger.

...ok, was a little bit challenging
that is the comandline:
DGDemux.exe -l "D:\DVD\apps\DGDemux\demux.txt" -i "G:\BDMV\PLAYLIST\00002.mpls" -ang 1 -o "D:\DVD\00002" -demux 12a0 -fps 23.976

and that is the outcome:

[1200] DGDemux: 1316 -1.#IND00 9223372036854775808 22 0 0 0 0
[1200] DGDemux: 1316 -1.#IND00 9223372036854775808 23 0 0 0 0
[1200] DGDemux: 1316 -1.#IND00 9223372036854775808 20 0 0 0 0

You saw too late to not bother with -fps.

But now please redownload and test again. If you omit -fps you should get a popup telling you to use it. If you include it things should work.

I'll parse the VUI to be able to avoid this stuff. But that will take some time.

EAC3TO is also confused about vps_timing_info_present_flag = 0, but in a different way.

Really appreciate your help on this! I'm stepping out for 15 minutes. Hopefully I return to a post saying it's good now.
