I looked again at the M2TS fragment you sent and verified it has vps_timing_info_present_flag = 0. The reason DGIndexNV did not fail was because it uses a different detection strategy. It gets the frame rate from NVDec, which parses the VUI when the VPS comes up empty. Hehe, gotta love NVDec.

Everything is clear now...I hope!

...it was dinner time, sorry...
so, yes the pop-up warning did come; I added the -fps 23,976 and that is the new outcome:
(I think that is the hoped-for result )

Sorry, got delayed making some emergency repairs to my furnace venting. Gotta keep that CO at bay, even though I have the sensor in my bedroom. Even trace levels can f up your brain. I love my brain.

Maybe #1 scrolled off. Or another message was captured from another app and filtered out. Anyway looks like a quirk of Dbgview. I get a #1 here and operation 22 is the first operation of a PGS segment.

The great news is that sups are OK now for such disks. I'll make a release tomorrow morning including this fix and the PCM wrapping to W64. Later I will support VUI parsing to eliminate the need for the -fps option.

Thank you arrgh once again for your invaluable assistance with this issue, and your patience.

With w64 I can now mux to mkv without doing any acrobatics
First test mux was successful.

super, thank you very much!
(at the moment the download link to 25 seems to be down; I will test later; today is mothers day, so the priorities are different today )

once you have finalized this, it would be nice to have in the playlist analysis the outcome of this, like:

Code:
Files:
00002.m2ts

Streams:
1011: Video [HEVC] 2160p24 /1.001 (16:9) (plus secondary video)

or :
1011: Video [HEVC] 2160p 23,976 (16:9) (plus secondary video)
[HEVC] indicates h265 codec but not necessarily the resolution; in Europe at least there are from time to time discs with 24fps and 25fps (or 50i); I'm using such info for the processing/muxing

again, thank you very much

You're welcome.

The main web site link was OK; it was wrong only in the news posting, which I have fixed. I do that broken link shit just to see if anyone cares. Thank you for caring.

I address your request in the to-do list. No can do as I do not have NVDec in this app and I don't fully parse everything. But maybe I can get the info from the MPLS/CLPI. I'll check into it.

Always feel dread when a post from you pops up. But opening this one was like a shot of...single-malt Scotch. Rock on, bro.

You're in luck, arrgh. I can get the resolution info from the CLPI. And, gee, I can also get the frame rate, which will eliminate the need for parsing the VUI or playing games with -fps. I'll work on it today.

EDIT: Got it working. Will make a release later today.

EDIT2: Released as build 26.

really great; I have just now read this (not having expected such super fast progress)...

it looks already very good;
one small glitch: the protocol seems to report the resolution of the secondary videostream;
every thing else looks very good:

Code:
eac3to v3.34
command line: apps\eac3to\eac3to.exe G:\BDMV 1) -LOG="06_analyse_mpls.txt"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
M2TS, 2 video tracks, 3 audio tracks, 3 subtitle tracks, 2:12:10, 11.987p
1: Chapters, 16 chapters
2: h265/HEVC, 2160p24 /1.001 (16:9), 10 bits
3: h265/HEVC, 1080p24 /1.001 (16:9), 10 bits - Dolby Vision Enhancement Layer
4: AC3, German, 2.0 channels, 224kbps, 48kHz
Code:
DGDemux 1.0.0.26 by Donald A. Graft
Copyright (C) 2019-2020 Donald A. Graft, All Rights Reserved

Files:
00002.m2ts

Streams:
1011: Video [HEVC 23.976 1080p 16:9] (+ second video)
1100: AC3 2.0 48 224 [deu]

great!
as we are at this: what will be the notification of the frame rate scenarios?

e.g.:
25 1080p
or
25p 1080p
or
25.000 1080p

50i 1080i
or
50.000 1080i
...

you get my drift...

Please re-download build 26 and tell me if the details show for the main video now.

The format for the frame rate is always float with 3 decimal places:

23.976
25.000

etc.

I should have a separate line for the secondary video and make it selectable for demux or not.

ok, so, Girl on the Train gives me:

Code:
Files:
00000.m2ts

Streams:
1011: Video [HEVC 23.976 2160p 16:9]
1100: DTS HDHR C+L+R+SL+SR 48 1536 [deu]
but it does not seem to have a secondary video:

Code:
eac3to v3.34
command line: apps\eac3to\eac3to.exe G:\BDMV 1) -LOG="06_analyse_mpls.txt"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
M2TS, 1 video track, 4 audio tracks, 1 subtitle track, 1:52:20, 11.988p
1: Chapters, 20 chapters
2: h265/HEVC, 2160p23.976 (16:9), 10 bits
3: DTS Hi-Res, German, 5.1 channels, 2046kbps, 48kHz
   (core: DTS, 5.1 channels, 1509kbps, 48kHz)

whereas Wick 3 refuses to comply:

Code:
Files:
00002.m2ts

Streams:
1011: Video [HEVC 23.976 1080p 16:9] (+ second video)
1100: AC3 2.0 48 224 [deu]
sorry, I have to turn in, it's after 1am in my place; until tomorrow

Let's see the eac3to output for that Wick disc. I need to know the PID of the secondary video to understand what is happening.

This would be moot if I showed details for both main and secondary. So gonna do that. Why mess around?

@arrgh

I haven't done the line-per change yet but please try this version as it should get things right:

http://rationalqm.us/misc/DGDemux_arrgh.exe

Rename it to DGDemux.exe as usual.

When you bless it I'll fix up the build 26 distribution.
