Hi, i always wondered why my CPU is not under full load at the first pass when encoding to a BD25. It's about 35FPS. Is it a decoding issue? I thought that dxva gpu decoding with ffdshow is alot faster than cpu encoding with x264? The 2nd pass is alot slower and all 8 threads are then under full load.

Has something changed in regard to Win7 and VC-1 because I have two Win7 64Bit Systems and neither of them will do any VC-1 Streams anymore the last time I had to do a VC-1 Disc I had to do it through a VM running Vista.

Any ideas on how to fix the ImgBurn launch/finish issues as posted above?
I tested manually launching the ImgBurn app after creating the 'movie-only' content folder in BD-Rebuilder. Worked fine. Just fails to launch w/in the app as a single 'process'. I'm running BD-Rebuilder and ImgBurn in 'admin' mode, have anti-virus off (only way ImgBurn will launch)...what else should I try/look for. I believe I've attempted w/ UAC all the way off as well. Does the location of either BD-Rebuilder or the ImgBurn app make a difference (BD-Rebuilder is on the desktop; ImgBurn is in the Project folder)? Thx UPDATE: Did three more burns, letting it fail and manually initiating the ImgBurn session. On third title, I came back to the computer to find a fully finished session w/ a perfectly burned blu-ray. It's worked ever since (2-3 more titles/sessions). Can't say that I did anything other than a couple of restarts w/ anti-virus off. Now I can even run ImgBurn w/ anti-virus on. Very odd. I'm thinking the various security measures embedded in Win7 and/or my BitDefender 2010 were causing the issue, and somewhere along the line, they created a pref file that recognized ImgBurn as 'OK.' Sigh--at least I'm now working @ %100, even thought I don't know exactly why... Last edited by ellusian; 20th June 2010 at 02:00. |

I experienced an "audio encode error" last night and it seems that AFTEN does not like/accept the special character in the
name of my output directory - cf. the second log. Code:
[02:00:44] BD Rebuilder v0.34.02 (beta) - Source: WUESTENBLUME_BD - Input BD size: 30,71 GB - Approximate total content: [02:07:39.916] - Target BD size: 7,72 GB - Windows Version: 5.1 [2600] - MOVIE-ONLY mode enabled - Audio Settings: AC3=1 DTS=1 HD=0 Kbs=640 - Resuming from previously started job. [02:00:47] PHASE ONE, Encoding - [02:00:47] Reencoding: VID_00000 (1 of 1) - [02:00:47] Collecting video information - Source Video: VC-1, 1920x1080 - Rate/Length: 24,000fps, 183.838 frames - Bitrate: 6.541 Kbs - [02:00:47] Reencoding: VID_00000, Pass 1 of 2 - [04:11:53] Reencoding: VID_00000, Pass 2 of 2 - [08:48:08] Video Encode complete - [08:48:09] Reencoding audio tracks (if req'd) - ERROR in attempt to reencode audio (AFTEN) [AUD_00000__4352.AVS] [08:48:11] - Failed to reencode audio, aborted I now used Eac3to to convert the DTS stream to AC3 but I did try from the original workfile folder WITH the special character inside its name: Code:
eac3to v3.18 command line: "C:\Programme\eac3to\eac3to.exe" "F:\DVD\wüstenblume\WORKFILES\00000.track_4353.dts" "F:\DVD\wüstenblume\WORKFILES\4353.ac3" -640 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DTS, 5.1 channels, 2:07:40, 16 bits, 1509kbps, 48khz The ArcSoft and Sonic decoders don't seem to work, will use libav instead. Patching bitdepth to 24 bits... Decoding with libav/ffmpeg... Remapping channels... Encoding AC3 <640kbps> with libAften... Creating file "F:\DVD\wüstenblume\WORKFILES\4353.ac3"... The last DTS frame is incomplete and thus gets skipped. <WARNING> eac3to processing took 3 minutes, 54 seconds. Done. So the question is: could BD RB made to check for any such issues when starting the process or where does libAften differ? Last edited by DK; 9th June 2010 at 16:33. |

Yes, the output path name contains that name "Wüstenblume" - the english title is "desert flower". The full path can be seen n the eac3to log. And I SUPECT that to be the reason as the next title in the batch queue and all previous conversion did not fail with this audio extraction error. Or was there a limitation with avisynth concerning path names? Or am I mistaken and it was just bad luck? Last edited by DK; 9th June 2010 at 16:55. |

Hmmm, misery loves company, doesnt it?
The second title I did shows two problems: - the original material offers a selection marker in the initial menu - the converted material does NOT show this marker - cf. attachments. I am not able to get this full movie back to play beyond the initial menu. I wouldnt know which further infos I could provide on this issues? Code:
