Agreed.

So what version do you want me to test it with? The beta or the nightly?

Wrong. The last beta release was released on February 28 this year.

We do not release on timeout. We make a release when we do it.

That too probably should've been updated by now too considering all the commits I've seen. Also, Betas don't get the same exposure as "stable" ones do.
I think it's ideal to aim for a few "stable" releases per year.

I agree with the devs, they can release hotfixes if it's necessary any time, but a release should be time independent but feature dependent.

There's not a lot of feature development though, the code commits are generally small, so releases aren't needing to be feature dependent at all.

Well, clearly they 'developed' something. The bug doesn't seem to be present in the latest SVN build. I've conducted a short test with several different files and didn't managed to get it hung once.

Time for another stable, I think

I'm a bit surprised and happy that MPC-BE's DXVA2 Native works on a HEVC 10-bit sample on my AMD's APU but not with LAVFilters.
Anyway why don't put crossfeed feature on sound processing?
Looking for stable release as well here

I was talking about put it on Options>Audio>Sound processing. Yeah, it's part of MPC Audio Renderer, might be not good idea to put the option there.
If I sound impudent because of that, I'm really sorry.

Can perhaps the Subtitle menus be combined?

You have right click > Subtitles (to access subtitle options and to enable)

And right click > Navigate > Subtitle Language (to change the subtitle; you can also enable here too, which overlaps in functionality)

Doesn't make sense that these are separate. Why do I need to access a different subtitle menu to change the language?

For subtitles use SUB button on toolbar, left/right mouse button.

Bug: wrong black levels with MPC-BE's EVR-CP with some files. Sample

MPC-BE's internal video decoder outputs correct black levels with all EVR, EVR-CP and madVR
LAVVideo decoder outputs wrong black levels with EVR-CP, but correct black levels with EVR & madVR

LAVFilters-0.71.0-35 MPC-BE 1.5.2.3648 Windows 7 x64

If it's happened only with LAV Video Decoder - it's not MPC-BE fault

OK but then why LAV + EVR or Sync or madVR outputs the correct black level ?

@Mercury_22
The driver settings may be affected. The "Output range" option may be affected. In any case, LAV Video Decoder does not report the nominal range.

If the file does not expose a range, then none is reported. Limited Range should always be assumed to be the default by the renderer in such a case.

Yes, but we got a more correct result if the decoder reports the nominal range. I do not remember the exact reason why we did this (maybe it was the effect of the settings of the video driver, it sometimes does not work as expected by the user).

I will not deny that the EVR-CP in this case may not work correctly. But the solution to this problem is not obvious, and other negative effects may appear.
