Build 344:

If you have [x] Move input files checked it will be ignored when processing input AVCHD folders. Contents will be copied instead and you'll be informed in the log.

This should prevent problems with people not reading the manual.

*** edit ***

Option is now renamed to [x] Move transitional files and is used only when transferring output from tsMuxer when converting mpeg/m2ts/mkv files to AVCHD folders before incorporating them into final output.

Ok, I don't read manual! (actual I did, trying to find setup info for custom menu as I heard x264 encoder is needed, but there was no detail so I searched and download the x264 encoder, then found out multiAVCHD already included it!)

[x] Move input files is fine, its a feature. My opinion is to not checked by default. If the user want to speed up the process, or really want to "move" the file, he/she can select the option, and no one can complain afterward.

Anyway, due to the incident of "move" file. I have a minor bug report. I added 3 AVCHD folders, but the first source AVCHD folder was already been "moved" by multiAVCHD (and multiAVCHD allow me to add the folder like normal), when processing, the log said the first AVCHD folder is missing clpi file etc, and correctly processed the next 2 AVCHD folders. But the resulting custom menu has the first 2 AVCHD folders names, which points to the second and third AVCHD folders content.

regards,

Li On

You can now safely have the option turned on.

And multiAVCHD accepted the empty folder, because it searches for index.bdm* files. Later it 'finds out' that CLIPINFO/STREAM folders are empty and reports it.

Congrats on the new version. I like the Title Editor. I don't believe it, but I now have a fully functional custom menu. I haven't changed anything, just downloaded the latest version and it now works. The custom menu background also works.

I'm processing a AVCHD folder and wonder why it takes so long. Then I see the log say it process each .clpi file, then a .clpi.bak file, hence it copy each mts file 2 times! I checked my source clipinf folder does has a .clpi.bak for each .clpi file. I guess that maybe due to I ran too many times of AVCHDme on the folder. Maybe multiAVCHD should only process .clpi files and ignore other file?

This is the log during the section:

@earlcrow: I guess the AVCHD folder you used had multiple playlists. That could be the reason. It is still under development.

@psme: update to build 347 and see if it is okay. Now clip files are processed correctly and CASE of filenames/folders is not changed to lower now.

The 'Edit' button in the 'Media' tab should be disabled if no file is selected.

Now if you add some files and press edit (without selecting one of them first), the menu is scrambled (v2.3 build 346)

This is fixed, too.

Sorry for the least few updates.. now in build 349 EDIT and DEL buttons behavior is fixed. Also title names from AVCHD folders not in lowcase and only *.C*PI and *.MPL* files are processed (so no cpi.bak files).. also fixed SRT detection in MKV folder.

Great, works fine now. Thanks !

Some suggestions :

1) It will be good to 'remember' the last opened folder for adding AVCHD/BDMV folders. Now it defaults to the multiAVCHD installation folder.

2) It will help if the subtitle language can be selected from a combobox, or, more easily, edited in a textbox inside the 'tsMuxer' tab instead of renaming the .srt file.

3) The program could automatically read a text file named <mkv name>.txt or .mnu that includes the menu list entry for the .mkv file, instead of editing the menu entries by hand. For folders it can be <folder name>.txt.

Keep it up

I'm glad it finally worked for you. I added this option in authoring - Frames to encode... I think it was the reason encoding failed for you. If you have time next days you may try to lower the value (move slider to most left position) and see if you'll get the same error as before... I guess in your case - the best value could be about 10 or 16.

***

I did some tests with menu video resolution. I tested:

1920x1080p - played again in 1080i but I think output is more crisp
1920x1080i - it is currently used for menus
1280x720p - played in 720p
1440x1080p - played in 1080i... wasn't 4:3 but stretched to 16:9
720x576 - played in 576p... a bit blurry... but works.

Of course navigational graphics are either misplaced or missing.

Thanks. I don't know why it works now but I will try a lower setting and see what happens.

Hey deank,

Might sound sound so stupid. How do you put more than 1 movies in folder (AVCHD). I read your guide many times but still didn't figure it out.

"Copy the output folder (AVCHD) to the root of your external USB disk" What do you mean by "root of your external USB disk"?

Thanks

Hi deank,
I processed one mkv file whose resolution is 1280X544. It should be 16:9 but PS3 played it as 4:3. Is there anywhere I can change it to 16:9? or is it possible to add an option to set it manually if I know it is 16:9 or 4:3?

Thanks deank for the quick update! Now I have a feature request!

It'd be great to have a "title" page for each title on the main menu. For example I have Movie A/B/C/D on the main menu, when selected a movie, there is a second menu (so I can use different background graphic for each movie) with a "Play" or even a chapter list (if available, and only list in number is good enough), and a back to main menu option of course.

regards,

Li On

You may add multiple files or AVCHD folders to multiAVCHD media tab. After you complete the compilation you will have ONE AVCHD folder, which contains all movies you used. Then copy this new folder to your USB.

No, no one possibly could. PanasonicTVs and SAPs with SD card capabilities seem to use BDMV (movie-only) instead of HDMV (movie and menu) AVCHD type. The format of some files is different for the former and I'm working to make it work.

multiAVCHD already sets the correct aspect ratio. If AR<1.77 it is set to 4:3, otherwise to 16:9. Please update to the latest build (351+) and try again and post the results. My PS3 plays everything fine in 16:9.

No, no one possibly could. PanasonicTVs and SAPs with SD card capabilities seem to use BDMV (movie-only) instead of HDMV (movie and menu) AVCHD type. The format of some files is different for the former and I'm working to make it work.

Panasonic just made an update available for the EU versions of the BD30. The changelog mentiones "Playability of AVCHD format (motion picture) recorded on an SD card". Might already be fixed

The firmware is V. 2.2, dated 3-feb-2009.

I think that will only become possible when we get more info on the BD structure available, so someone can make/build a muxer that is, frankly, better than tsMuxeR, both option-wise as development-wise.
