And Youtube-dl dosnt support HTTP? It says on the site it supports appletrailers i think

Any way to make mpchc just as robust as the kodiplayer in this regard?

Apple trailers works fine here, so something is wrong at your end.

Use latest MPC-HC and youtube-dl.exe
Don't disable the internal HTTP(s) source filter.

I almost never write here but reading this made me sad.

clsid I'm pretty sure there's tons of people that appreciate your hard work and you simply don't see them because they're simply happy and satisfied. So, thank you.

Especially when replacing the LAV filters is so simple:

1. Download and install latest nightly from here http://files.1f0.de/lavf/nightly/.

2. Go to \Program Files (x86)\LAV Filters\ and copy the contents of either the 64-bit or 32-bit folder to the \MPC-HC\LAVFilters64 or \MPC-HC\LAVFilters32 folder.

You can also replace the MediaInfo.dll whenever a new version of that is released.

Thanks @clsid for keeping MPC-HC alive!

I thought the current LAV filters + player supported .usm files? I tried to play an .usm video with mpc-hc and it just says "cannot render the file". I know they are not corrupted or any such because they are scenes from a computer game that are inside the game's folder and they play fine when they are viewed in gameplay.

Provide a sample file.

Not everything that is supported by FFmpeg is automatically supported by LAV Filters. The video decoder needs to define which formats it can handle.

I copy/paste the webpage URL from browser.

Your addon probably tries to extract video url by itself. ProcessExplorer can show the command line that was used to open MPC-HC. That contains the URL that Kodi used.

A combination of several shift keys with a letter or function key is possible as far as the "virtual key" constants of Windows permit.

First click in the "Keys" table selects the line; second click in the "Key" column in this table enables a key input field.

Or do you mean: Several alternative key combinations for the same command? Doesn't look like this would be possible, it's a 1:1 table.

No. Each command has only one keycombo.

But there are separate Pause/Stop/Close/Exit commands.

This is the smallest file at 2MB.
It is just the Sega logo that plays when the game boots up.

In case that is not adequate enough, here is the smallest file of a scene from the game. It is 34MB.

MPC-hc has a problem in loading iso directly in some cases.

samples: https://kodi.wiki/view/Samples
the #4 sample doesn't work it works fine in mpc-be.

i personally can see anything that's related to this and i guess the iso is just virtual mount and the open "open DVD/BD..." is used on it which works fine if you do these steps by hand.

USM files are not yet supported by FFmpeg, and thus also not by MPC-HC.

Direct playback of ISO files is also not supported.

but still kind interesting that direct iso playback works "most" of the time by accident.

It works only partially. LAV Splitter may be able to find the contents of the first file in the ISO and play that. But it doesn't do more than that.

Someone made a patch for an optional dark theme. It's not perfect yet. Currently only the main UI is dark, all other dialogs, like playlist and options, are still light as they are now.

Test build for those who want to try:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/vuda6t
(menu > view > dark theme)

Other known issues atm: Menu separators are not visible, statusbar border is still light, menubar is light again after changing language.

Did YouTube change something? Some recently uploaded 60fps videos are giving me 30fps versions when opened directly in MPC-HC via the built-in youtube-dl functionality.

Here's a couple example 60fps videos that are exhibiting this aforementioned behavior:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gkb87gjLyPg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTF0ZvWraMA

Yet other recent videos do not exhibit this behavior and do in fact play at 60fps in MPC-HC, such as the following:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVnWPvufIuo

Heck this video only gives me 720p 30fps even though 1080p 60fps is available via stand-alone youtube-dl:
