BD Rebuilder Beta - Bug Reports Only

Any feedback on this issue would be appreciated.

"Movie-Only" by definition only writes one feature to the disc.

As for the other issue... I'd need to see logs.

jdobbs... if a bluray contents already have 6ch ac3... how can I tell BD-RB not to reencode that and just keep that sound track untouched? I can use multiavchd to blank out the DTS so that way it doesn't get converted.

1. Don't use multiAVCHD to blank out the DTS, just deselect it in BD-RB -- in running the disc through multiAVCHD first you are "preprocessing" and I won't respond to bug reports because I wouldn't be able to determine if it is caused by BD-RB or multiAVCHD. "Blanking out" audio is a good way to cause issues, and frankly self-inflicted problems are not why I've created a bug thread.

2. You select "Do not reencode AC3" from the SETUP dialog.

multiAVCHD is a nice software program. I use it sometimes as well. But, as with all powerful editing programs, it gives you the ability to change many things pretty much at your discretion. That can result in lots and lots of potential issues.

Feel free to use multiAVCHD on a disc and then run BD-RB against the output, it gives you lots of capability. But, DO NOT POST ANY BUGS YOU MAY ENCOUNTER when you do that. Only report bugs that you experience against a commercial sources should be reported. It simply makes me spend time chasing bugs that cannot be fixed -- I've done this for many years, and have learned this lesson many times. I would also appreciate honesty in reporting. I have also chased bugs many times in which someone "neglected" to inform me (or more often chose to conceal) that a source is preprocessed.

If you can't follow this rule -- don't use the software. You are causing headaches for yourself and delaying beta developement of BD-RB.

I just want to simply ask how to let BD-RB keep the original AC3 so that it doesn't "waste" time to re-encode a AC3 that's already made. Also I didn't want to create another thread because like last time, someone said I was selfish or so to make a post just for myself because I didn't "read". Thanks again jdobbs!

BTW... I'm doing a BD9 encode that's why I ask you because that option to keep AC3 only is for bluray output only correct?

Hi there, I'm using the latest Beta v0.34.08 and I've been experiencing this problem with several certain disk backups since I started using BD-RB, most recently with Sherlock Holmes. It isn't a random occurance, some originals just work, others don't

the most current version is BD-RBV03411. There were some fixes regarding CRF encoding with this newer version.

September 19th, 2010 - v0.34.11
- Fixed a bug in which one-pass CRF encoding did not
work when the LAVF decoding option was selected.

I suggest you try this lates version to see if your issue is corrected.

Check the smaller m2ts files in the list for many audio tracks. Occasionally you find discs which on the extra tracks there are loads of english audios - they aren't used but use up space and do confuse the programme. I usually select 'only one audio track' in setup and then manually add commentary tracks etc in the main stream.

I have another report of that disc (I believe its a European version) having 140 segments in a multi-part movie-only encode. My guess is that TSMUXER can't handle that many, but since I can't repeat it with the US version I'm not positive.

Yeah, it's European Version with Remove of Region Code.

I just wonder if the huge number of segments is a purposeful method of getting around TSMUXER's capability? I mean 140... that's almost a segment change every minute. I can't imagine angle changes or "director's cut" types of differences requiring that many pieces?

And I thought 51 pieces was a lot for the US Region 1 disk, lol. I tried the disk with Clown to put all of them into one big m2ts like I always used to do with multi m2ts movies and was surprised that after tsMuxeR combined them it also found tons of audio overlaps that caused a big audio delay of almost 20 seconds. I played with different ways to fix it and finally gave up and let BD_Rebuilder have a go at it. I was happy to see that it plays without any glitches at all. I even previewed the breaks where the m2ts files are joined and even in slow motion there is no hesitation, play back is extremely smooth and the audio transitions are fluid. Thanks jdobbs, the latest version really is a big improvment in the way it handles these movies that are chopped and stirred. Some of those m2ts files were like only 3 or 4 hundred frames long!, WHY??

When BD Rebuilder encounters sources that are huge like that, it also uses TSMUXER to combine them into a single M2TS first to prevent filename size errors (that's what the "to M2TS" and "from M2TS" in the log means:

- Extracting A/V to M2TS [VID_00810]
- Extracting A/V from M2TS [VID_00810]

But I think 140 may even be too many for that method.
