For a 1440x800 file with a 4:3 PAR, BD Rebuilder Generates

Edit: Apparently the borders help *♂️ 1GB smaller with them. Still, I've seen that niche resolution (as well as heights of 804 and 816) in video products such as fanedits before. Last edited by iambryanknowles; 16th February 2025 at 11:00. |

Since 800 height is not BD-compliant, but 1080 is, BD-RB will have to pad such source up to 1080 to do justice to its name.
For the cases of reencoding to unconstrained formats I would suggest one of the unconstrained encoder GUIs out there. clever_ffmpeg_gui, MeGUI64, MeGUI.x64, FFmpeg_Batch_AV_Converter_Portable_x.y.z_x64, Hybrid, StaxRip...

I found a bug in the latest release 0.62.12, when doing a Full UHD backup, with extras encoded as H264, BD-Rebuilder set subtitle values incorrectly in the mpls files, resulting in missing subtitles when playing on standalone players, BD-Rebuilder is using "12A0, 12A1..." values (reserved for UHD resolution) instead of "1200, 1201..." (for FHD content).

The following bugs are still there:
1) Building the 2nd menu can result in it failing when doing the 2nd menu. The first menu files are there, but no hint of the 2nd even being attempted. It took three tries on a current project before it would build the 2nd menu. 2) and because of the above, it means building the disc again. With BDRB ignoring the titles.inf file, it means redoing all of the manual changes to the titles. |

The subtitle was missing on the blu-ray player. The problem resides in the reauthoring of the full disc. Last edited by Moviewatcher666; 17th February 2025 at 16:55. |

When the original file is imported, BDRB shows which tracks it will keep and which tracks will not be copied. Take a look at that display and report back. |

When I look at the M2TS in Media Info on that same disc, the subtitle track shows it is there. Therefore, in my estimation, a flag that is to make the subtitles available to the blu-ray player is somehow missing. The logs I uploaded should show exactly what I am discussing. You can see the subtitle track is selected to process with the project. It just is not turned on in the final disc. Thanks. |

Aah, gotchya. I'm sorry to say that this is indeed weird. I've not run across this issue. But, I have to say that a majority of the time I do not try to turn on subtitles. I only check them on titles that I create from scratch (home brew) that have subtitles.
Just exactly how are you trying to turn on the subtitles? |

On the BD Rebuilder processed disc, the subtitles are not on automatically and you cannot control them in the main menu (on or off). I have all my working files generated by BD Rebuilder. Has anybody got any ideas how to reassemble and get the subtitles to work(a possible workaround)? I am sure it is just a misplaced or incorrect flag that is preventing subtitles to work properly. Maybe a bug in the program? I'm not sure. Never had a problem with other discs. Just weird. Thanks. |

hello!
What is the process of converting bd to uhd, how does the preset "quality" change to other better quality and less speed? I get a 30gb bd, 17gb uhd, I have 24000 mb custom target installed One problem, when I want to convert (Converting to UHD-BD (HEVC) output format), it always uses h264 to encode, having NVENC activated in full backup, How can I enable HEVC in that mode? other problem in Archive backup/aac , No matter what size you set for custom target, it is always the same output MB size. Code:

Went right into main sub menu and selected subtitles on my LG UP970 since there is no dedicated subtitles button.
Subtitles there but do not display. Although I appreciate the suggestions, it is clearly not a blu-ray player issue. When I checked the resulting ISO file in PowerDVD, I get the same results. No subtitles displaying. Been playing with electronics like this for 45 years. Been using BD Rebuilder since it started in 2008. I am pretty convinced there is a bug specifically on this disc with the re-encodng. Have you evaluated the logs that I have attached to my original post? Do they reveal anything? Is there a workaround suggestion to manually activate the subtitles? Is there a way to hardcode the subtitles in the working files before RB Rebuilder reassembles? Thanks. |

Well, holy crap! I fixed my subtitle problem with Godzilla 1954 4K Criterion Collection disc. I got a clue from this post: https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.p...47#post2014947 So, I decided to compare the MPLS playlist file from the original disc to the MPLS playlist created by BDR. Under this section: "number_of_PiP_PG_textST_stream_entries_plus": 0, there was this entry from the original disc: "type": 1, "pid": 4608, "stream_coding_type": "PGS", "language_code": "eng", "reserved01": 0 Under the same section in the BDR created playlist, the entry was this: "type": 1, "pid": 4768, "stream_coding_type": "PGS", "language_code": "eng", "reserved01": 0 So I inserted the MPLS from the original disc into the disc structure created by BDR and created a new ISO file. Put it into PowerDVD to play and now the subtitles work exactly like the original disc. @jdobbs - I don't know if this is a bug but if you need to look at it further, just let me know and I can answer any questions you might have. Hopefully, this can help somebody else down the line. Thanks all! Last edited by Moviewatcher666; 21st February 2025 at 21:30. |

Looking at the info about this release, it has an English soundtrack, so why the worry about subtitles?
