Strange phenomenom each time I used the latest version of bdrebuilder (everything worked fine with the other one) and I used it twice : first with "Gandhi", second with "The professionals" : the video is 4/3 letterboxed
Here's what media info says of the converted bd : Nom complet : O:\professionals rmd\PROFESSIONALS_UK\BDMV\STREAM\00011.m2ts Format : BDAV Format/Info : BluRay Video Taille du fichier : 21,7 Gio Durée : 1h 57mn Débit global moyen : 26,4 Mb/s Débit global maximum : 35,5 Mb/s Vidéo ID : 4113 (0x1011) ID de menu : 1 (0x1) Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Profil du format : High@L4.1 Paramètres du format, CABAC : Oui Paramètres du format, RefFrames : 3 images Durée : 1h 57mn Débit : 24,7 Mb/s Débit nominal : 21,0 Mb/s Largeur : 1 920 pixels Hauteur : 1 440 pixels Format à l'écran : 4/3 Images par seconde : 23,976 Im/s Résolution : 24 bits Colorimétrie : 4:2:0 Type d'image : Progressif Bits/(Pixel*Image) : 0.373 Bibliothèque utilisée : x264 core 67 r1163 3f56e27 Paramètres d'encodage : cabac=1 / ref=3 / deblock=1:0:0 / analyse=0x3:0x113 / me=umh / subme=7 / psy_rd=1.0:0.2 / mixed_ref=0 / me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=1 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / chroma_qp_offset=-3 / threads=6 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / mbaff=0 / bframes=3 / b_pyramid=0 / b_adapt=1 / b_bias=0 / direct=3 / wpredb=1 / keyint=24 / keyint_min=1 / scenecut=40 / rc=2pass / bitrate=20953 / ratetol=1.0 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=10 / qpmax=51 / qpstep=4 / cplxblur=20.0 / qblur=0.5 / vbv_maxrate=35000 / vbv_bufsize=25000 / ip_ratio=1.40 / pb_ratio=1.30 / aq=1:0.8 Any idea what's going on (I guess there's no 4/3 option... So ?...) Thanks (I use windows xp2) Sorry I hadn't thought mediainfo was in French but you see the problem. |

I think it should be 1440x1080 instead of 1920x1440

Is that the original or the BD-RB output? It is definitely not within standards if it is truly 1920x1440.

4/3 !
It is the bd output. The original is 1920*1080. And the result is a 4/3 letterboxed 2.35:1 movie instead of 16/9 letterboxed as it should. THe first time it happened I thought it was some trouble with the original movie.

Can you post the log from the encode? I would also like to see the CLPI file for the stream that was so odd.

BD Rebuilder v0.24.01 (beta)
I've updated the first post of this thread with a new release (v0.24.01) of BD Rebuilder. There have been significant changes in this version -- so treat it accordingly. The change are:
Code:
- Added code to increase output size prediction accuracy. A WARNING to those using custom sizes in order to make "adjusted" output, -- you will likely oversize/undersize. The actual size of the output should now be closer to that specified in the selected target parameter. A special thanks to lithiumus for his help in the sizing adjustments. - Changed the default values for AC3. Reencoding will now be done at 640Kbs for 5.1 (rather than 448Kbs) and 224Kbs for 2.0 (rather than 192Kbs). Also the setup dialog option has changed to enable 448Kbs as a secondary option (previously 640Kbs). - Fixed an inconsistency in the percentage reporting to the status bar when in minimized mode. - Added a LOG entry when BD-RB can't find the X264 window handle. This is just to clearly identify if the 50% complete problem is a result of a failed attempt to retrieve the handle. - Corrected a bug that could under certain conditions prevent playback of streams that had secondary video on the original disc. - Added code to prevent failed encode on very small sources due to ridiculously low specified bitrate. - Added an ETA field to the status display of the GUI that shows an estimate the time needed to complete the current encoding pass. - Added a partial implementation of PiP rebuilds. The video should now be included on full backups. Audio support is still in development. - Changed the name of the INF file. Previously the job status information (INF) was saved to a file called "BDREBUILDER.INF" in the destination folder. Now, to keep the information for debugging, etc. I have named it according to the source. - Added an option to the SETUP dialog for automatic removal of the WORKFILES directory after rebuild. Warning: Selecting this option removes all files required to perform another REBUILD in the event you decided to "tweak" the source slightly. Use with caution. - Added a "Shutdown after REBUILD" option under the FILE menu. This will shutdown your computer at job completion (only if BD-RB has successfully completed all its encode and rebuild steps). A warning/abort dialog gives the opportunity to abort the shutdown. - Updated X264.EXE to a newer release (r1173). - Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

Wow!! many new changes and features. Where do you find the time? I thank you for it!!
I have been having all successful backups on the previous versions, both full movie and movie only. I will try to keep up with you on my testing of this new version. ![]() EDIT: The need for either tsMuxer to support DTS Express or jdobbs to create his own muxer for BD-RB, or a free alternative to reencode DTS Express to Dolby Digital for the PIP option to be complete. And not even 7 months since your first release. I am impressed!! Last edited by Capsbackup; 1st July 2009 at 01:47. |

Great work with the latest version
I have been using this AVS script to blank unwanted extras on some discs and it would be great if it could be included somehow and since its a clean static image it compresses extremely well and only requires a very tiny bitrate I change the length to match the original so as not to upset chapter points etc Code:
video = BlankClip(length=164356, width=1920 , height=1080 , fps=24000, fps_denominator=1001, color=$000000)
audio = BlankClip(video, audio_rate=48000, stereo=true)
AudioDub(video, audio)
Subtitle("Video Removed", size=120 , align=5)
ConvertToYV12()

Yes. It can do a complete backup (including menus) to BD-5, BD-9, or BD-25. But it can also do "movie-only" backups.
