Interesting. Do you see that message often? I never see it, as the two processes (indexing and extracting) always takes the same amount of time. It's logical that they should both finish together due to disc read-buffering. I just put the message in to cover the possibility of a difference.

every now and then, not too often though. the extracting goes to 100%, then after a sec or to jumps to "completing remainder ..." and just sits there. Swap to FFDshow and the second the extracting is done it jumps to encoding as it should. and since i'm encoding from a anydvd ripped iso mounted in VCD it shouldn't happen. Doens't happen alot but it is not the first time i've seen it. Same disc did also gave me a fluke error for a sec "error detecting stream. MPEG 1 not supported" on one attempt. Though all streams are either mp4 avc or VC-1. That being said, that "completing" issue is usually fixed by swapping to ffdshow, but the drawback is all encoding has to be done again even for previously succesfully encoded streams since the frameserver is swapped.

Failed to retrieve audio

Can't seem to get past a Failed to retrieve audio error. (First one I've had a problem with).

I've tried both of the audio streams that BD Rebuilder shows (see attached).

I've re-ripped it a few times, latest version of Any DVD

Any thoughts?

Different disc and you're doing a full disc backup while rogress is doing a movie only backup to mkv. However both logs seem to indicate an issue with mkvmerge.

Back to HP6

Just loaded July Beta, had ST Generations go/with no problems using an AnyDVD HD image loaded on Daemon Tools. HP6 very different story, 2 separate images tried and directly off the BD using AnyDVD HD and I always get a

"Failed to retrieve audio, aborted" at 4.16% overall progress.

Tried rebooting between runs, continuing previous version, not continuing previous version, etc. Any insight?

Here's the log from a "virgin" start and then a "continuation."

@Imperial Zeppelin

I don't get that one. I can't see how MKVMERGE is even involved there. I'll have to look at the code.

[Edit] Ok... If that source is an interlaced VC-1 source than I can see where/why it is called. Can you check and see if the stream list shows a "**" next to that stream's framerate? Does the information area show "Converting field-based or secondary stream" when this is happening?

"Harry Potter 6" -- is that "The Half Blood Prince"?

Yes, HP6 is Half Blood Prince.

Attached is what I see right before the failure, no mention of what you've asked. Just says "Extracting A/V streams: 00680.M2TS"

Thanks for the help. Anything else you need? For giggles I'm trying a "Movie Only" right now. I'm not putting much hope into it, but if interlacing is the problem, I'm thinking maybe some of the interlaced extra crap on the disc could be the cause.

Here is the info you asked for from the Canadian version of Half Blood Prince.

It appears to be VC-1 1080p.

Similar issue here with "Jack the giant slayer" - movie only, using dgdecnv2045: Audio extraction goes to 100% and then just sits there. Reverting to the previous Version of dgdecnv 2044 seems to solve the problem. Something for neuron2?

Try making the project (also demuxing the audio) manually with DGIndexNV (not through Rebuilder) and report the result.

Works and finishes normally. CPU load down to Zero after finishing. Nothing unusual observed.

Then it is apparently not something for neuron2, unless there is some strange interaction with BDRebuilder. I'll wait for jdobbs to weigh in on it.
