@jdobbs

Hi!

Regarding (not) having to defend/explain yourself:

I must say that, in addition to your wonderful skills at program development, if nothing else, you're the most tolerant MODERATOR I've ever come across!

Without mentioning names, I'm sure you know as well as I, that there are other moderators that would have "climbed all over" "turbojet" quite some time ago.

Therefore, I'd like to take this opportunity to unofficially welcome you as a member of my unofficial "Thick Skin Club" ;>}

Well, there're some who might disagree. But it is much appreciated. I'll accept membership with pride.

There are actually 43 m2ts files that make up that main movie playlist, so why the 19 frames dropped is what I was curious about. Guess this is one of those oddball authorings, like The Secret Life of Bees was with the two completely different English HD audio streams for each of two versions of the movie.

Anyways, the TSMuxer appended BD went fine through BD-RB 0.22.02, and the resulting BD-9 looks incredible... no audio sync issues, nor any video gliches...absolutely perfect.

As I mentioned, this is the only time I've recieved that failure to retrieve audio error... so I'll chalk it up as an exception and not a rule...Thanks.

If im doing a movie only back up to a dvd9, should the output folder contain a CERTIFICATE folder or not.
All of my previous backups worked fine with a CERTIFICATE folder. the latest version does not make a CERTIFICATE folder.
sorry if this has been answered before there's too many pages to read through.

Generally for movie-only it should not. Most players will play it fine with or without, but I have been told there are some that look for the CERTIFICATE and will not play AVCHD if it exists. I'm not aware of any that require it for movie-only.

There are a few other "quirks" to look for, depending on your player. If you plan on burning the Movie Only to a BD9/BD5 you should read through this thread... http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=144674.

Regarding movie only backups on DVD9, I'm afraid that my Denon 2500BT will only play these if the full Blu-ray structure is there. I have to manually add the missing folders e.g. CERTIFICATE once the BD rebuild has completed. I have to do the same with AVCHDs authored from my Sony HD camcorder using Nero. Pinnacle 12 Ultimate, however, makes AVCHDs that contain the full Blu-ray structure and these play fine on the Denon.
I have an older Sony BDP-S300 that will play more or less any disc I load.

If enabled, ImgBurn creates the missing CERTIFICATE folder for you.

If the certificate folder was in the source list then it would have been added to the compilation 'as-is' (i.e. it would include all the files that were in it).

If it wasn't, ImgBurn adds one (and its sub folder), but it will of course just be empty.

Do you have any settings enabled that could be making it ignore the files in the cert folder?

Get me a screenshot of the main window when the 'Options' tab is visible please.

It does, actually (also with checking AUDIO_TS in 2.4.2.x versions), but it may break playability in some players.

Because there is no accepted standard and rules for Blu-ray content (among hardware manufacturers) when content is written to DVD5/DVD9 (also called BD5/BD9), I believe it is better for everyone to do a simple test and see what works for their players.

There are 100's of brands and 1000's of models and all handle DVD media with BD/AVCHD content differently.

I think it is not a good idea to request any folder presence or absence in BD-RB's movie only output (for BD5/BD9).

Also, having ImgBurn adding folders (by default) when they're not wanted is another issue. I asked ImgBurn's author to remove this 'feature', because it is always better to be sure that your DVD/BD-R disc will contain only the folders you added. There is no need of AI when it comes to this.

Maybe rare, but it worked.
Just to let you know, I worked this today and got the desync also. The problem seems to be that the stream is flagged as VC-1 @ 23.976 (according to TSMUXER) -- but the CLPI says 29.97.... it's because of the pulldown.

I should be able to make some determinations as to whether it is 23.976 pulldown and correct for it.

Just as a point of reference... WMP also plays that stream off the original commercial disc out-of-sync. Apparently it ignores pulldown as well (which explains why the frame serving only created enough frames for 23.976).

Perhaps the path length is too long!!!

Make a new directory mummy3 in the root and copy all of the sub-directories (e.g BMDV, Certificate etc) to it then try again.

The place you placed either the source or the working directory is too far down in your file structure, and it has hit the path-length limit for one of the calls I'm making. Move the folder up (shorten the path) and it should work.

That's one of those things I've been meaning to correct (by using a newer call) but have never gotten around to it (because it so rarely happens).

[edit] Guess I'm too slow on the trigger. drmih beat me to the answer.
