Just done a full backup of Tropic Thunder (BD25) and some of the extras files are not getting compressed enough, 3.5GB original to 3.3GB encoded approx, and also the 1GB files. The very small files get to about half their size, it’s happened on the Incredible Hulk to. The film is fine, apart from the file being smaller, just thought I’d report it; it leaves less room for the main film

problems encoding "Motherhood"
Hi,
I'm using BD Rebuilder 0.33.04. Inspect.exe shows all OK. Source is "Motherhood" which shows up as MPEG-4 (AVC), 1080i, 29.97fps. I've tried to encode with and without forcing deinterlace, but the output seems jerky whenever they pan across a scene. Images seem like they are ghosting or doubling during motion. Static scenes play OK, just scenes that pan across the screen seem off. THis is true if output is played on my PC or my LG370 BD Player. When playing original BD I don't have this problem. Any ideas? Much thanks, Z Here's the INF file: [Status] LABEL=MOTHERHOOD VERSION=v0.33.04 (beta) SOURCE_SIZE=17816524800 SOURCE_VIDEO_SIZE=17816524800 TARGET_SIZE=4581228544 REDUCTION=.257133677606982 RESIZE_1080=0 AUDIO_TO_KEEP=eng;hun; SUBS_TO_KEEP=eng;hun; BACKUP_MODE=1 MOVIEONLY_TYPE=0 QUICK=0 ENCODE_STEP=0 COMPLETED=1 REBUILD_COMPLETE=1 [00005] AUDIO=100 PGS=10 M2TS_TARGET=4581228544 RATE=5812 NSIZE=4091873280 FLINK=0 MLINK=0 |

ex: AssumeFieldBased().AssumeTFF() or it may say AssumeBFF(). Then open the .m2ts file with dgavcdec, select preview, and see what it says the field order is. |

@jdobbs
Does the conversation in the following post (37722) mean that you solved the DTS Express (or is it Express DTS) quandary? http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?...postcount=7722 Last edited by setarip_old; 17th April 2010 at 01:38. |

Monsters Vs Aliens uses AC3 for the secondary audio not DTS Express. I think that this movie is one for the few the does use AC3 for secondary audio on PIP video. Jdobbs Your assumption is correct. Sorry...should have mentioned that it was DD (AC3) |

Menu audio not looping on standalone
Hopefully someone already has an answer for this, because I failed to save he logs: I recently made full disc BD-RB backups on DVD-9s of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and "Sleeping Beauty - 50th Anniversary". Both burned discs play perfectly under Power DVD v.7.3, with menu background music looping until selections are made. However, with each of the two, when played on a SONY BDP-S360, the menu background music ceases after approximately halfway through the first loop. Somewhat surprisingly, everything else about these two discs continues to play perfectly - main movie, extras, options, etc. with all controls totally functional. Your ideas will be appreciated. |

@setarip_old;
I believe this is due to DVD media and AVCHD, it's apparently not very consistent. If you burned that very same creation onto a BD-RE, I am quite sure you would find it works perfectly. I have had this happen to me randomly, some work perfectly and some don't. Most always the movie plays fine though, with the occasional audio not heard on the main movie but works for all the trailesrs and extras. |

I checked my region A version of this disc, and I receive the same log.
You could try changing the field order to BFF, run it manually to BD5 size and burn to DVD+RW and test to see if it's OK. Found this post, but I'm not sure what to make of it. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=142427 EDIT: Zot, you could try and run ReStream on the file to change the field order without reencoding. It does work with .ts files, but I am not sure about .m2ts or .264 files, but tsMuxeR can convert it for you, and this would be quicker than reencoding. If you burn to RW media and test on your standalone, you can confirm if this was the problem. Last edited by Capsbackup; 17th April 2010 at 15:33. |
