When you become even cooler, you don't say, "Google whatever.." you say "Use DuckDuckGo to find something." A basement dweller.. Basements are cooler since they're underground, don't go dissin' the Hobbits.

Update: BD-RB might have a bug with some TS files. But I've discovered that if I open the edited TS file I removed the commercials from into VideoReDo (5.3.86.763) and save it as MKV or MP4 then BD Rebuilder imports them and also converts them in sync. I don't recall encountering this before this update of VideoReDo. Anyway..if you still want to check the TS file I could provide a link.

I use TS because it retains the Closed Captions that CCExtractor is able to get as SRT, and it remains a "pure" source after commercials are removed. JD and you got that clear a bit ago since rerendering already poor HD TV quality to 23.976 FPS loses even more. I wish higher qualuty was used since Coaxil is being used rather than OTA. I also agree about chapter marks, so it's often a multiple saves to get all the wanted stuff.
Edit: TS is importing fine...after examining import Temp more. It's the process to do with MP4Box that causing it. Ah, well, I left Apple and so MKVs are used everywhere else, except online. For now, glad to own VRD.

I'v e asked for help before, but nothing has come forward. I cannot seem to successfully complete a conversion from BD to DVD in BD-RB if I include a subtitle. This used to work fine, but now always seems to fail. It completes the "convert 1 subtitle to dvd format step", then goes into "starting mplex" and runs all the way to 100%, but then throws the "error in attempt to mux" & "failed to rebuild" messages and stops. Is this a bug? Is there something different about english subtitles in today's BD releases that the program gags on? Am I doing something wrong?

This is a Win7Pro64 SYSTEM.
When the program throws the error, the TMPSUBS folder is sitting under Workfiles full of subtitles. The following is after I used the program to make a movie only BD, but I don't mess with the config file between runs. I will try running the same BD on my laptop and see if it does the same thing. Thanks for helping me figure out what is wrong. VERSION=0.50.0.24 Enable_test=1 MODE=3 ENCODE_QUALITY=3 ONEPASS_ENCODING=0 AUTO_QUALITY=0 MOVIE_ONLY_LOOP=0 ALTCRF=20 ALT_TARGET=1024 ALTMETHOD=0 ALTAUTOCROP=0 Target_Size=23500 Custom_Target_Size=25000 Min_Playlist_Mins=1 AUDIO_TO_KEEP=all SUBS_TO_KEEP=all SD_CONVERT=0 OPEN_GOP=0 RESIZE_1080=0 DEINTERLACE=1 SD_TO_1080=0 CONVERT_WIDE=0 DTS_REENCODE=0 AC3_REENCODE=0 AC3_640=1 AC3_192=0 KEEP_HD_AUDIO=1 AVCHD=1 REMOVE_WORKFILES=0 MOVIE_ONLY_LOOP=0 REMOVE_OUTPUT=0 USE_FILTERS=0 BDMV_CERT_ONLY=0 USE_LAVF=0 IVTC_PULLDOWN=0 ASSUME_DVD_PAL=0 UNMASK_CHAPTER=0 COMPLETION_BEEP=1 DGDECNV=0 AUDIO_TRACK_LIMIT=0 SUBTITLE_TRACK_LIMIT=0 PRIORITY_CLASS=0 ENABLE_BLANKING=1 RESIZE_1440=0 OUTPUT_3D=0 RESIZE_720=0 NEROAAC=0 MENU_BACKGROUND=C:\Utilities\BD_Rebuilder\misc\menuback.jpg IMPORT_THRESHOLD=0 QUICK_PLAY_THRESHOLD=0 MENU_AUTO_BACKGROUND=0 MENU_PLAY_SEQUENTIAL=1 MENU_START_WITH_MENU=0 ENCODER=0 IGNORE_3D=0 DECODER=0 FRIMSOURCE=0 OUTPUT_SBS=0 SUPTITLE=0 MENU_AUTO_DVDAUDIO=1 IMPORT_LIMIT_LANG=0 IMPORT_KEEP_PLAYALL=1 IMPORT_PAL_TO_FILM=0 MENU_AUDIO=C:\Utilities\BD_Rebuilder\tools\blankclip\blank.ac3 MOVIEONLY_TYPE=0 AUDIO_DRC=0 ALT_CRF_TARGET=1024 STATUS_LOG=0 PGSTOSRT=1 [Paths] SOURCE_PATH= WORKING_PATH= Update: the exact same thing happened on my laptop. Could it be something in the rip? I use DVDFab creating folders/files. I do not have any problems creating BDs with subtitles - only DVDs (movie only with 1 english subtitle). multiAVCHD creates a dvd from the rips just fine. Update #2: there is a file called "cvt.bat" in the tmpsubs folder. The contents of that file include: pushd "C:\VIDEOSTRANSCODED\PACIFICRIMUPRISING-DVD\WORKFILES\TMPSUBS" "C:\Utilities\BD_Rebuilder\tools\dvdauthor\bmp2png.exe" -E 4608*.bmp popd all the subtitle files start with 4608 . . and . . they are all .png files. in case that has anything to do with this? Update #3: I ran my "Ready Player One" BD through BD-RB for DVD output including english subtitles. It failed the same as previously described. However, then I ran the "Midnight Sun" BD through BD-RB for DVD output including the english subtitles. It ran to conclusion and the output is fine. So, whatever the problem is doesn't seem to happen with all titles. Last edited by Rich86; 1st August 2018 at 15:48. |

Keep processing BD's that way. I've run a few so far, and 0 problems. I plan to get "Ready Player One"..soon. Meanwhile, I'm checking with my other recent BDs. I haven't used alternative that way..much.

I've processed a few BDs to DVD9 and only problem I've noticed is undersized DVD-9 when AC-3s are involved. If DTS is the only one used, and converted by the process then projected size is fine.
@Lathe Are you going to attempt to make something from the "size" comment, Lathe?

BD to DVD5 with Subtitles failure:
I just ran the "Death Wish" BD through BD-RB to a DVD5 with english audio and the english subtitles. It worked fine and the created dvd looks fine. So whatever problem is happening is not universal and is definitely restricted to certain titles. |
