Maybe you can use the 1825 installer and update to latest stuff as pinterf explains.

He's deleting all his stuff here.

AVSMeter source and binaries are available at videohelp. It's in the software repository there, just search for Software. They have all the old versions too.

Wow, what a mess...
Old Grouchy left us?
All his wonderful tools are gone?
If you are looking here, Groucho,
please explain what has upset you so much.
I really appreciated your work.
A big thanks and hopefully no good bye forever....

Admins, why is mass deletion of threads (including other people's posts) even allowed? This is BS, I say.

EDIT: now I can say it: the version switcher was not very good. It never worked for me. Batch files don't have the intelligence needed to do this job. A proper setup program is needed. With a little effort a person could whip up an Inno Setup install script using the excellent Inno Script Studio GUI. I have used Inno Setup in several projects, it's surprisingly easy - no more difficult than, say, Visual Basic or FrontPage.

It's a design flaw in the forum software. When users delete the first post of a thread, they delete the entire thread. Some mods used to restore the thread and just edit out the first post. Agreed, it is disrespectful to use this quirk to delete other people's posts that they often spend a lot of time, energy, and good will in writing.

Probably a mod like manono or Wilbert could restore those threads if you ask nicely.

Thanks, I guess I should step up; as soon as I complete the AVS+ documentation, I'll take a shot at it. (Re: the docs, I'm in a quiet period right now, doing research, aka fooling around with the new features. The final push will come soon.)

Here's an older snapshot of his thread: https://web.archive.org/web/20161106...d.php?t=165528
I think I have most of his plugins as zip here (at least for x64). Will uploaded them soon.

What happend that he deleted just everything? Very sad

The files are still there, I shuffled things around a bit. Here is the folder link.

Why can you say it now and not before?

Saying it's not good because it never worked for you lacks any logic. It works fine for many people, just not for you. Sometimes, properly cleaning up a previous AVS install will solve the problem(s).

As for the intelligence of batch files up to the job:
Your statement shows that you either don't know what tasks are involved in installing/switching Avisynth or you don't know what batch files can do. By the way, I'd be terrified if batch files had intelligence, they could do a lot of damage. However, it does help if the person who writes the batch file has some.

Personally, I think batch files are a blessing. I do almost everything related to encoding (and tasks related to my real job) with batch files. Therefore I don't have to use any "Guis".

I made a couple of installers using the InnoSetup script from AVS+ but I stopped because there is a bug in the script which I was too lazy to track down and because the Version Switcher was working fine.

Lastly, I think many folks who are uncomfortable using the Windows CLI will be happy to have a regularly updated clickety installer so good luck with that.

It works fine by me too.

It was never before so easy to switch between Avisynth versions.

And AVSMeter is a real blessing to detect missing dependencies (cys?) etc..

Fred.
