Limit forum width?

How about adding something like:

body {
max-width: 1008px;
margin: auto;
}

1080 pixels would look better IMHO.
It would be similar to Videohelp for example.
However VH uses vBulletin 4.0.1...
Besides, Archie "Doom9" López has been "too busy" with what he calls "real-life" for years :–/

Why? Personally, I see no gain in limiting the with and not keep it dynamic with the window size.
I probably look at the forum most of the time with a window width of 2k on 4k and higher resolution displays and thing 1008 is rather low,...

Selur, most people find long lines more difficult to read.
Hence, the main textual content of most sites doesn't use widescreen width. Similar to printed media.

Filler: vB4 or vB3, the above two CSS properties suffice.

One could simply resize the browser window,...

Sometimes, like a long code block or a wide image is present in message, the width (to the browser window) is broken.

Exactly, that's what dynamic content is meant for

Since the days of the olde and goode Windows 95 ,
I use non-maximized Windows only when I absolutely have-to.
Surfing the web is not one of those exceptions in my book of rules

Anyway, and as I said before, it's infinitely unlikely that Doom9 would implement that feature request anytime soon
(if ever).

I imagine you could use a bookmarklet or .css to "resize".
You can even split a window in two, which will result in a shorter width, & then you can read both sides in stereo ;-).

Some sites may have a "mobile" version of their web pages.

Is there's a way to make it stick? A browser extension maybe?

Seems to work. I wonder if it'll break anything.

There's probably more out there.
