plus I don't think tsmuxer can demux DTS Express which is pretty common for secondary audio. |

roman added the option as a workaround for cropped videos and the subpath includes only the video stream. He is not visiting the forum for some time, but may be an email will bring him back

Star Trek BD
Hi Jdobbs
bug report : still no luck with the star trek bd's The problem seems to reside in a m2ts file that follows the main movie but is nearly empty and is only a few seconds. TSmuxer says "some streams not recognized" if i demux the video the vidstream is not playable by any player. is it an option to exclude these nearly empty m2ts from encoding? maybe when reading the mpls files u programmaticly ignore the playitems shorter then x seconds ? I have seen this in many movies hope i have been of some help chearz |

Since most discs now use AVC for pretty much all the content maybe the odd bit of MPEG2 the detection of these linked files could be more intelligent but this would most likely cause alot of bugs and you also stand the risk to run into audio mismatches too |

Using latest version on "The Matrix", BD-Rebuilder fails with the error:
[21:43:13] BD Rebuilder v0.23.02 (beta) - Source: MATRIX1 - Input BD size: 36.10 GB - Approximate total content: [06:10:23.968] - Target BD size: 22.90 GB - Resuming from previously started job. [21:43:14] PHASE ONE, Encoding - [21:43:14] Extracting A/V streams [VID_00019] - Error in attempt to extract audio/subs. [21:43:24] - Failed to retrieve audio, aborted I tried to demux the file 00019.m2ts myself, and indeed tsmuxer fails with the message: Reading buffer overflow. Possible container streams are not syncronized. Please, verify stream fps. File name: C:\Matrix\BDMV\STREAM\00019.m2ts I managed to get the files extracted (had to demux video seperately and then the audio seperately, not together in one go) using tsmuxer. How do I trick BD-RB to think it succeeded so when I resume it will go on and encode it? |

You will find a line that says ENCODE_STEP=(step_number) Just change this number up one I think you are on step 0 so change it to a 1 save and resume IIRC steps are (Correct me if im wrong but this is from the top of my head) 0 = Demux 1 = 1st Pass 2 = 2nd Pass 3 = Audio Encoding 4 = Muliplexing Last edited by tekmobile; 24th June 2009 at 20:05. |

The INF parameter COMPLETED=n tell BD-RB which files have been completed (from the streams list). ENCODE_STEP=n tells it which step of a single stream has been completed (extract audio=1, pass1=2, pass2=3, reencode audio=4) Last edited by jdobbs; 24th June 2009 at 23:25. |

The chapters are defined in the MPLS, and BD-RB pulls them from it. |

No problem with chapters for me with movie only or full backup. BD-RB has been correctly placing all chapters the same as original.
I have had absolutely no problems with the last 4 - 5 backups, both movie only BD-5 and full backup to BD-25. Excellent work jdobbs. |

" I tried incrementing the Completed=x number but it fails on each of the remaining files. they are all ver small files (under 300KB each) and there are 9 Can I just copy them into the workfiles directory manually, and rename them mkv, and then change to completed=65? Obviously there is no need to recode such small files and then I can get on with rebuilding the BD structure This is what was listed in the last command file "C:\Users\Category 5\Desktop\bd rebuilder\BD_Rebuilder\tools\x264.exe" "S:\BD 25-9\STEP BROS FULL BD\WORKFILES\VID_00384.AVS" --bitrate 25000 --level 4.1 --sar 1:1 --fps 30000/1001 --aud --vbv-bufsize 25000 --keyint 24 --min-keyint 1 --vbv-maxrate 35000 --filter 0,0 --subme 2 --me hex --bframes 3 --8x8dct --direct auto --weightb --trellis 0 --analyse none --threads auto --thread-input --progress --no-psnr --no-ssim --stats "S:\BD 25-9\STEP BROS FULL BD\WORKFILES\VID_00384.AVS.MKV.stats" --pass 1 --output NUL |

i have replaced the m2ts file with een selfencoded one of 2 sec now BD-RB works fine. can anyone explain why so many titles have a trailing m2ts file which is nearly empty. it is not menu and not popup I thought that bluray was not restricted to one kind of codec and what div does one file of 2 sec make to the whole playlist ? The playlist determines what to play in that order. iam sorry but i don`t agree with your statement, maybe you can elaborate? chearzz |

i possibly found a new way to decode VC1-Interlaced
The Decoder that comes with "Sonic Scenarist Blu-ray Edition 4.3" at first seemmed to work(output picture was good): x264 tried to use it but there was a mistake :-( Last edited by user822; 25th June 2009 at 17:21. |

just copying the file will work correctly providing the original video was avc as they will still match but if the original is say vc1 after encoding it will be avc and the playlist will tell the player the codec is avc but the copied file will still be vc1 and not match therefore requires reencoding to avc. hope that makes sence but im using my phone to reply |

I probably shouldn't report this yet till I try it with the latest version. But did a backup of Samurai 7 anime BD1 and the first encode i did with both TrueHD audio tracks came up over sized by about 4.5GB (BD25 Encode) then tried it a second time with only the english audio and it was about 4% over sized at 1.5GB.
Used BD-RB 22.02 but will try again tonight with the latest version see if I get the same resaults. If there is some specific info needed from BD-RB or someone is curious let me know. I just used the standard settings. x264 mode, BD25, Slowest speed. Great app btw, this is the only disk i've had a problem with trying to backup. Thanks for the hard work JDobbs! |
