Tomorrow I'll be adding an option which when enabled will result in the sub-menu items acting as chapter selection for a given Title instead. And why not, see below for the current customization options available.

Current customization options...
• Set default audio stream.
• Set default subtitle stream and whether it should be enabled by default.
• Set default selected bonus feature.
• Set default selected sub-menu item for each bonus feature if applicable.
• Commentary feature which when enabled can be integrated with Page 1 (Play) and Page 5 (Bonus).
• Set "Play" option to start playback immediately or display "Resume/Commentary" prompt if applicable. (Resume functionality offered throughout.)
• Set "Chapter" selection from POPUP MENU to continue or restart playback from selected chapter.
• Set navigation orientation (U/D/L/R) per page to Horizontal, Vertical or Vertical expanding left or right.
• Set number of menu items for Pages 1-6. Navigation wraps around at extents accordingly.
• Link Pages 1-5 to menu items on Page 1. Provides for arranging order of items to match what's seen on-screen.
• Link menu items on Page 5 (Bonus) to Titles (2-20).
• Link menu items on Page 5 (Bonus) to Pages (7-12) containing sub-menu items if applicable.
• Set number of sub-menu items for a given bonus feature if applicable. Navigation wraps around at extents accordingly.
• Link each bonus feature sub-menu item to a title.
• Link Title 0 (Top Menu), Title 1 (Feature Presentation) and Titles 2-20 (Bonus Features) to a Playlist (MPLS).

Additional features to be added...
• Link each sub-menu item associated with a bonus feature to a chapter based on assigned title.
• Enable/disable "Overview" integration with "Play" option on Page 1.
• Enable/disable "Description" integration with "Commentary" feature on Page 6.
• Use GPR1 (General Purpose Register for Audio) rather than PSR1 (Player Status Register for Audio) from TOP MENU when setting audio stream for Feature Presentation. (For cases where menu background video includes audio.)
• Link a commentary track to associated audio stream when presented as bonus feature. Covers case where "Commentary" feature is disabled.
• Alternate page structure for "Audio" and "Subtitle" options that doesn't include indicator calling out current stream. Menu graphics required are less involved in this case. Both page structures provide for moving selection to current stream by navigating "UP". The same is the case with chapter selection.

All customization options detailed above simply involve assigning a value to the appropriate "Move" GPR command located under MovieObject 0 which is run on First playback. See my post a couple back from this one for a look at my current GPR definitions in Excel format in addition to MovieObject 0 from BDedit. The excel sheet calls out the available values in each case.

The level of customization here also provides for integrating your source files (MPLS/M2TS/CLPI) without having to rename any of the files. In fact, you won't even need to update the IG (menu) references within your playlists (*.mpls) if you don't want to. Instead you can just rename my Top Menu (99001.m2ts/clpi) and Popup Menu (99002.m2ts/clpi) so that the numbering matches.

The last step once setting the GPR values and placing your source files in the appropriate directories will be to replace the existing objects (menu graphics) with your own. The process involved is very straightforward. I'll provide additional details on that including Photoshop tutorials once completing my work on the template. Time permitting I may even include a graphics library.

Also, the initial template out the box will (graphically) offer both horizontal and vertical menu layouts. My Photoshop (PSD) file will be included as well in addition to the actions used to automate the process of building and exporting the assets (images) for import as objects to the menus using BDedit. So that's all I've got for now. No ETA as of yet. It will be a couple more months for sure. When there's something of additional note to share I'll chime back in. Questions and comments welcome of course.
Nice. Good work and all the best

Good to hear that you're making progress on this project. I'm wondering what the end product will look like. And how much know-how of BDedit it will need from us. Your work on the BDMV tab so far is all new terrain for me. I'm more familiar with how the PLAYLIST and CLIPINF tabs work. But I guess you will get us in the right direction and making a manual is also part of the project.

The template will require very limited use of BDedit. From MovieObject 0 on the BDMV tab you'll update the user specific GPR values, so that the Blu-ray meets both your file criteria and menu requirements, the items on the excel sheet which use the cyan fill color. From there you'll access the Top Menu (9900.clpi) and Popup Menu (99001.clpi) from the CLIPINF tab, press the "Menu" button, then go to the "Objects" tab updating whatever objects you need to in additional to the "X" and "Y" coordinates for a given set of objects if needed from the associated menu page. The only real learning curve may the menu graphics related tasks. When the time comes I'll lay it all out for everyone.

I'm making significant progress on my Universal Blu-ray Authoring Template this weekend. In the process I gave my GPR (General Purpose Register) scheme a complete overhaul. I also finished building out the third tier of the Blu-ray menus, cases where a given bonus feature has sub-menu items to choose from. (To check it out see my previous post, here.) Included is the ability to determine the "Play" behavior for each set of sub-menu items, i.e. whether a given menu item plays the "Title" its linked to or a "Chapter" from said title based on its button id. In any event, just thought I'd share. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Time to put BDedit to bed and call it a day.

I have received an email asking me to download a new version of BDedit (0.58b9).

I get an error when trying to access the IGS menu from the CLIPINF tab.

The error that can be read in the pop-up window is this one:

Quote:
Access violation at address 004057EC in module 'BDedit.exe'.
Read of adress 6C6F661C.

Hi Pel. Just replied to your email from the other day. The CLIPINF tab is giving me an error as well, "Access violation at address 004057EC in module 'BDedit v0.58b9'. Read of address DB5EC922." Look forward to testing out the next revision.

I have tried several and all have had the same result.

Specifically:

- Arcadian
- Konvoi (2023) (German edition)
- Convoy (1978) (French edition)

I have no problems with previous versions of Bdedit.

Thanks.

Pel, using 056b7 (I see I'm a little old on that version so I have just donated for the new version so I'm not sure if this has been fixed?)

I have my Win10 scaling to 125 and now I can't get to some of the entries. Specifically I have an attached image to show in the Playlist screen I can't adjust the STN, under that area you can see the Video\Audio\Subtitle window the entry cannot be changed as it is not 'open' enough (next to play item where it gives the type of stream).

I had to adjust some other areas of BdEdit to be able to see everything ok but this section cannot be adjusted.

I have tried all the 'HIGHDPI" settings in Windows to no avail unfortunately. So at the moment the only way to edit that section where I need to do often is to set my Windows back to 100 scaling and then return to 125 after use.

Is there anyway to be able to adjust this section for custom scales?

Pel, I received the new version (058b10) - Thank you for that.

You can also disregard the post just above. The issue was with a program called 'Windows10DPIFIX' - the program uses the Win8 DPI settings to ensure that older programs (like IMGBurn) do not look blurry when scaled up in size (in my case to 125). It works great for these older programs to not look so blurry but I suppose something with it and BDEdit don't work well together.

As soon as I stopped using that and reverted back to the Windows 10 scaling settings BDEdit was fine once again (though IMGBurn is blurry again LOL).

I love my dual 24" 1920x1200 monitors. No scaling required.

Lowpro: Alas no such luck for me regarding dual monitors!

Interesting stuff I see you have going on with the 'Universal Blu-ray Authoring Template'.

And FYI I still am using the process we came up with for adding in subtitles (& keeping menu) for UHD titles when I need it.

In version 0.58b10, when I use apply to clpi and save clpi, BDinfo show popup "Call from invalid thread" and can't show information. No problem when I use original clpi.

Thank you for the bug report.
Is this error present even if you don't change anything in the playlist?

Hi.

Would it be possible to change the default audio and subtitle tracks with BDedit?

Thanks.
